Job description

We’re on the lookout for a detail-driven, and process-oriented Controller to oversee both the US and Canada facilities. This person will provide support to the CFO and General Manager to plan, analyze, organize and administer financial systems and procedures.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Oversee day to day accounting operations in the US and Canada, including management of Finance department personnel.

  • Complete the prompt closing, preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements.

  • Prepare annual budgets and provide continuous updates and reporting on a monthly basis.

  • Provide weekly cash reports with key data and information.

  • Complete sales tax, state filings, and government reporting.

  • Provide information to external auditors for yearly financial reports and income tax filings.

  • Oversee or perform all duties associated with accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, journal entries, banking activities, payroll, job reporting, and maintaining accounting files.

  • Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies.

  • Develop, track and assess business and financial performance and key performance indicators.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as Controller/Accounting Manager.

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Knowledge of GAAP.

  • Intermediate computer skills and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Previous experience with finance systems or financial packages.

  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Previous experience with Sage preferred.
